The Sunshine Blogger Award (#1)

"For bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere."

I’m soooo happy! Wanna guess why? Cos I’ve been awarded the “Happy Sunshiney Award”! Yay! *begins to write invitations to a celebratory party…* Haha… Yes, Im really excited and happy, so THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH FOR NOMINATING ME, LIS (a flyleaf). :) You totally, TOTALLY made my day! <3

Okay, ‘nuff said…

Personally, I feel like this is a great achievement, in more ways than one (I’ll explain)… I’ll admit, Im not a very happy and sunshiney person in real life… Cos… Okay, confession time now… I have this natural tendency to look at stuff from the negative point of view… Im the kind of person that laughs and says “Oh, too bad!” when I see others fail…Sad, I know…

I’ve been trying to change and this blog is helping me… It’s helping to see things from different perspectives and to be thankful for everything… Cos, when I blog, I really think of every single word I type. So I do reflect and draw from past experiences and stuff. And Im happy for that…

So if people can sense/feel my “happy-sunshiney-ness” coming through from my blog than, yes, this is a HUGE achievement…

Moving on…

Here are the rules:

I. thank the blogger that nominated you and link to his/her blog
II. nominate other bloggers and let them know on their blogs
III. answer a list of ten questions
IV. the Sunshine Award button must be posted on your blog

The problem is… Um…I would love to nominate other wonderful bloggers… but being the social hermit that I am... I don’t know many other bloggers…And those I know have already been nominated… Sorry…

(Im seriously using the ellipse way too much. Sorry ‘bout it… See?! I did it again. Sheesh!)

Hmmm… I’ll just answer the ten questions that lis had on her Happy Sunshiney Award post… So here goes!

1.   What is your favourite Scripture verse?

I love John 3:16! Absolutely love it!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)

It’s the Hope and Salvation that we sinners have. What glorious Light and Love is bestowed upon us in this verse!

2.  Would you sacrifice your life if it would save that of a stranger?

Um… no. First of all, I love life. Second, I have no idea who Im saving. Thirdly, just why would I do something crazy like that?

Right, that (^) was mean. But honestly, it would be my initial answer. After thinking about it for a while, it really depends… Like if someone was being beaten up by another person and I have already informed the police then I would gallantly swoop from where ever I was and stand if front of the stranger and try to stall the bad guy while the cops come… Yes, I would do that…

But if it was four thousand, three hundred, and seventy-two, big, burly and armed-to-the-teeth men against me and me only with no reinforcement on the way? Then no… Even though that would probably never happen… heh!

3.  Given a chance to swim with dolphins… would you accept?

Yes, but on one condition… if they are free. I really feel really sad for dolphins that are kept away from the sea… It’s just mean! They are born to be free, kay? So just leave it that way, why doncha?!

4.  Are you more “fascinated” by the light or the darkness; why?

Im more fascinated by the light.  Cos light is just so cool. It has so many colors and even more amazing properties… :)

5.  Can you speak with a different accent?

Duh! And I love speaking/trying out different accents!

6.  Would you rather be disliked or forgotten?

Erm… honestly, neither. But if I have to choose then, I’d rather be disliked. Being disliked and forgetten would probably feel that same. Both persons would ignore me and stuff, but… I can always fall back on knowing that that person who dislikes me still knows my name, my face, and some of the stuff I did… The thought of being completely erased from a person mind is just a little scary… Wait, no, change that. It’s very very scary… It’s almost like a piece of me existence has just evaporated into nothing… Scary thought ><

7.  Has the ocean ever filled your dreams?

Nope. Or I have no recollection whatsoever. But I do like crystal clear oceans! (Erm, who doesn’t?)

8.  Presuming you own one, how often is your journal put to use?

I dun have a journal, and I treat my blog like a journal… So I think I use it/ write in it once a week at least? Not enough for a proper journal… But enough for a blog… Hm…

9.  Favorite fictional character of all time?

I have no idea… If you think of a fictional character that I might like, do tell me in the comments!

10.What’s your favorite hymn?

Oh… this is hard… The answer would most probably be I Run to Christ

Thanks for stopping by!

Project 16 - DIY Project #3 - CHOCOLATE!!!

Haha! I made something again today! I made chocolate! Was inspired by this person’s attempt and success, so I decided to give it a go. IT. WAS. AMAZING. (the chocolate I made, not that person’s post… just kidding! She’s great :P)

I trying to go gluten- and dairy-free so chocolate is definitely off the list of food I can eat. It was the worstest thing that has ever happen to me… I absolutely adore chocolate… To me, chocolate equals happiness… I just have to get my hands on dairy-free chocolate recipe and I’ll be saved…

Armed with some cocoa powder and coconut oil, I attempted to make some chocolate. It was soooo easy I nearly cried… Okay, mebbe not that dramatic, but it was really really really simple! I made it in like 30 seconds. Dump the ingredients in a saucepan and tada!

*Happy dance…*

Oh here’s a pic…

I wanted a bar of chocolate, so I pour the melted chocolate into a baking pan and chucked it in the freezer. :)

One problem though… I didn’t bake this… so, technically, I cannot cancel another thing of my Project 16 list… >< Oh wait!!! This is a DIY. Because I did it myself... So, yes, I can cancel another thing off my Project 16 List!!! Yay! :)

So that’s it for now!

P.S. – I have something to bake in mind already… so stay tuned! :)

Update: Diet Change + rant

As you people might already know, I’m currently battling a skin condition that I have.

It’s called eczema, more specifically, it’s atopic dermatitis (facial eczema).

My mom and I suspect that it’s something I ate that caused this flare-up, so…

I have to change my diet…

Dum dum dum… ><

Altho food is not really something I care a lot about,

I really REALLY intensely dislike it when I cannot eat whatever I want to.

(Cos I’m too lazy to cook so I wanna just eat whatever I can find…)

Now, with this condition, I have to specially prepare food to eat…

No more instant noodles and whatever… >< *sob sob*

I really need a whole lotta perseverance and self-control for the next few months…

(or until I find out what I’m allergic to.

Which will, hopefully, not take that long…)

So today’s day one of this crazy change of diet.

I’m going gluten-, dairy-, seafood-, nut-, egg-free

*whispers fiercely* for now…

Thanks for reading!

And don’t get allergic to anything…

It’s Chinese New Year in like a few days.

Think about all those Chinese New Year goodies sitting on the dining table,

Beckoning you to eat them.

And then turning around and see mom raising her eyebrows and mouthing the word ‘no’…

And then,

Turning to look back at the table and seeing your siblings gorging themselves…

Argh! This is just tooo much… ><

I want some pineapple tarts

K, bye.

Project 16 - Baking Recipe #5 - Oatmeal Banana and Cranberry Cookies!

I baked something today!!! Yay!

It’s Oatmeal Cookies. Actually, it’s Oatmeal Banana Cranberry Cookies… It’s gluten-free, so that’s a plus…

(I’m trying to go gluten-, dairy-, and seafood- free… for now… Cos im currently battling a skin condition called eczema, more specifically, atopic dermatitis (facial eczema). It hurts and itches like crazy >< Mom thinks it an allergy reaction and I think so too… So right now, I’m trying to figure out what food I ate caused this painful and itchy reaction.) Now back to the topic…

This is one of the easiest cookies I’ve ever made in my whole entire life…

All I needed was just a banana, one cup of oatmeal, and some cranberries (dried). Yup, that’s all. Just mash everything together and throw it in the oven… And TADA!

I found it quite amazing that it stuck together… I was quite doubtful cos it started out as just a bunch of rolled oats and cranberries glued together by mashed banana… But it stuck, so yay!

It tastes pretty good… the sweet taste of the banana, the texture of the oatmeal, and the occasional bursts of sourness, thanks to the cranberries.

Noel likes it… I like it… And I hope you will like it too if you try it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Project 16 - Baking Recipe #4 - Nutella Brownies

How’s Life?

I did it! Woot! Another thing from my Project 16 list done! This time, it’s Nutella Brownies… Okay, lemme gather my thoughts… cos this is gonna be a little confusing…

I like brownies; I like their chewiness, their moistness, their chocolate-y-ness, mostly everything about them, I like! So need there be a better reason to try and bake this chocolaty goodness. Originally, I wanted to bake them during Christmas, but I didn’t get to… D:

Ok, so I made the brownie batter and stared hard at the jar of Nutella… I was thinking how on earth am I going to incorporate Nutella into the brownies. I could just mix the Nutella directly in the batter, but I dunno how much to put (but according to me, you can never have too much nutella). Secondly, I dun want my batter to be too much as I wasn’t sure how much it was going to rise, and thirdly, I wanted to be a little more creative. So I decided, Imma gonna take four cupcake cups, scoop some better into them and try out different ideas… the remainder, I decided to pour into a pan and bake like the normal kind of brownies…

In one of them, I mixed in a tablespoon of Nutella (a). In another two, I dropped a tablespoon of Nutella in the middle of the brownie (b). And in the last one, I let it bake until cooked and then poked a hole in the center of the brownie. I filled it up with Nutella and threw it back into the oven for another 1-2 mins (c).
Sorr for the blur pics… I use a lousy camera… ><
Here's the "remaining batter"...
I just slapped some Nutella on them and TADA!
The one that Brownie C.

Brownies B...
I didn't get a shot of Brownie A, but it looked just like the normal kind. :D
They tasted pretty good so I guess it a success! Yay!
Do you like brownies?
Thanks for reading!

1st of Jan is Now EXTRA Special!

Happy New Year!

WOW! It’s a NEW YEAR  already… Crazy, right?

Sooo many things to be HAPPY for,

And yet more to be GRATEFUL for…

The first of January is a special day,

Yes, that and another thing…

My blog’s turning one!!!

Happy Birthday, Blog (Savoring Each Moment)!

Oh my,

It seemed like just yesterday I was thinking of the name for this blog…

Well, this blog is where I post my thoughts, comments, rambles, as well as my achievements.

Looking back,

I’m quite happy with the way my life (and this blog) has turned out.

If you’ve got lotsa time,

Whydoncha check out all the posts right from the start of the year…

I did that…

And it was soooo fun…

I was able to document the fun and exciting parts of my life and be able to read and “experience” them again…

And of course, there were the humbling parts as well,

And I was able to learn from them and remember the lessons I learnt.

Hope you have a Happy New Year!

God Bless,

(proud owner of her now One Year Old   blog!)
