Project 16 - Baking Recipe #8 - Apple Crumbles

Hello… Again

Okay, fine… Seems like when I say Im not gonna post as much, I end up posting twice a week… Yep, doncha just love life… :) Here’s another baking post – this time, I baked apple crumbles! Yummeh… :P

This is another sweet and easy recipe. All you need is for the crumple (the crunchy top part) is:

1/3 cuppa flour

1/3 cuppa rolled oats

1/3 cuppa brown sugar

6 tablespoons of butter. (I used the unsalted kind)

For the apple part, you’ll need:

Apples (duh… the apples I used were kinda tiny… if you’re using the regular sized ones, then 4-5 should be good nuff. :])

1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

2 tablespoon of brown sugar

2 tablespoons of flour

Easy? Good.

Here’s how to do it…

First preheat your oven to 350 degrees Celsius.

Make the crumble by mixing all the crumble ingredients together. Once you’re done, throw that into the fridge.

Next, peel and cut up the apples into small bite-sized chunks and mix it with the other 2 ingredients (flour and brown sugar).

Spoon the apples into little muffin cups and press the crumble on top. Fill the cups all the way to the top, cos the apples shrink after they're baked.

Chuck them in the oven for 25 mins.

!!! keep an eye on them, cos they might end up like mine !!!
Hehe… ><

Mine came out a little burnt but still edible, so yay for that. :)
Oh, for maximum enjoyment, plop a nice big scoop of vanilla ice cream on the top!
Alrighty, that’s all for now! Thanks much much for stopping by!

Project 16 - Baking Recipe #7 - Nutella-Filled Cookies

Um… Hi!

Yes, yes… I said I wasn’t gonna post as much, but when I have so many thoughts and feelings zooming around in my head, I just have to post… I feel more at ease after I post on my blog so im just gonna do it, kay? Posting is like a stress relief tactic for me and so is baking… So im gonna combine them and post about baking! Yay for my geniusness.

As you can tell from the title, I baked Nutella cookies. More specifically, Nutella-filled cookies. Yummeh! It was so easy I nearly died. Seriously! All you need is:
One cuppa flour
One cuppa Nutella
One egg
and
that's all...
I know you're like "seriously"?!
And so Im sayin', "Yesh, SERIOUSLY!"
All you need to do is mix 'em all together and separate 'em into balls and pop 'em in the oven.
easy peasy.

Now you may be wondering what’s up with that random blob of Nutella on them cookies.
Well, cos the recipe was so simple, I decided to bump it up a notch.
After rolling the cookies into balls, place them on a baking sheet and press your finger (any one, you chose. But remember, if you want more Nutella, use your thumb. *wink wink*) into the ball, creating a little hole/dent.
Spoon/drop generous amounts of Nutella into them dents. Fill it up and bake for 10 mins. Don’t worry about the Nutella leaking out or dripping, cos it won’t. Nutella has a super-natural ability to not melt and drip in the oven.
Before I threw the cookies into the oven, I realized that I still had some batter left over.
I cleverly used the remaining dough to cover up the Nutella of some of the cookies.
It’s cool and fun, cos whoever’s eating it for the first time won’t expect to bite into a cookie and have Nutella oozing out of it. Yes, if you are generous, the Nutella will, I repeat, will ooze out. Eat it warm cos it makes the experience sooooo much better!
Don’t they look innocent and totally incapable of oozing Nutella?

See the Nutella? As I said, it doesn’t drip or leak. :) Genius invention, totally!
Oh and the taste? The closest you’ll get to Nutella heaven. The cookie itself tatses of Nutella, add the fact that there’s pure Nutella inside… Need I say more?
Alrighty! Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did.
Bye!

Update :: PROJECT 16 ~

Hey Peeps!

Okay, so i thought I’d do an update on Project 16. It’s been half a year since I began this project. I’m a couple weeks late, but I’m sure you’ll forgive me for that. :) So here we go!

1.       Write (or attempt to write) one novel.

Riiight, I began a couple of novels buuuut, never got past chapter one… >< But the important thing is I attempted to, see? “Attempted” is the key-word for this goal.

2.       Perform or present something two times publicly.

Oh hohoho! I performed many times since the start of October (which reminds me, WHY DIDN’T I POST ON THOSE PERFORMANCES?!?!) Gah, I’ll post about them… soon, but not now. Keep an eye out for that.

3.       Exercise three hours a week.

I have to admit, this goal was an EPIC failure… I haven’t been exercising regularly… oh wait, I haven’t been exercising AT ALL. Scary, I know… I failed this goal. Eep ><

4.       Blog four times a month.

Aha! This one, I can say, I have been diligently keeping up with. Yay! :)

5.       Make five new friends.

Hmm… Lemme think a moment. Um, I made three new friends. Oh wait, I made tons more – you guys, my readers! Thanks so much for following my blog and offering cool comments and all the other great stuff you guys do on my blog. <3

6.       Make six scrapbook cards.

Ugh, I’ve only made 2… Which is not bad, but definitely not good enough. Well, scrapbooking is kinda hard and messy, I ya get wad I mean. :P

7.       Remember seven people’s (excluding family members) birthdays, AND wish them ‘Happy Birthday’ on that day.

So far, only 2 times… Meh, imma bad friend… Sorry.

8.       Do eight DIY projects

I accomplished 4, so that’s pretty good, if I may say so…

9.       Learn to sing nine songs by heart.

I’ve learnt a couple songs by heart. Um, like, Do You Wanna Build a Snowman and Let It Go, for example… *ducks behind curtain to avoid rotten tomatoes from hitting me*

10.   Bake ten things that I’ve never baked before.

Im really enjoying myself with regards to this goal! So far, I’ve tried 6 new recipes. Six outta 10? That’s just peachy. Oh and I currently already have 2 more in mind… Muhahahaha!

11.   Give meaningful gifts to eleven different people.

Um… I don’t remember giving that many “meaningful” gifts to that many people… I can say, though, I’ve given at least ONE meaningful gift to one person – yep, at least ONE. :)

12.   Cook or help out in the kitchen twelve times.

I completely underestimated myself. I helped out in the kitchen, like, fourteen million times… Seriously! Okay, fine, I lied, but you get the idea.

13.   Use my hair-curler thirteen times.

Um… 13? Was that the best number I could come up with? I use it like 2-3 times a month, which means I have used it at least 12 times already. :P

14.   Read fourteen books.

Psh, I’ve read like a zillion books. I read books like I eat rice… (Yes, Asians eat A LOT of rice.)

15.   Learn fifteen new vocabulary words.

 I’m taking vocab classes this year, so this goal is pretty easy to accomplish.

16.   List and give thanks for sixteen blessings.

Oh, I’m soooooo grateful for soooo many things in my life! :) Way more than just measly 16. *Thank you, God! <3*

And that’s a wrap for the Project 16 update! As you can see I’m still a distance away from achieving all my goals, but just as long as I keep plugging away, I’ll get to the end with a smile on my face. :)

Okie, See ya!

Scinemation Competition!

Hi Hi!

This post was actually written a while back... But I guess I forgot to post it... Sorry. >< Anyways, here it is...

~~~
I entered a Scinemation Competition!!! It’s a stop-motion animation competition… hahaha, that’s fun to say stop-motion animation competition, stop-motion animation competition, stop-motion animation competition, stop-motion animation competition, stop-motion animation competition… anyways… The topic for this year’s competition was “Ensuring a Connected World.” I was in a group with three other ah-mazing girlz. J Yay!!!
The competition was on Wednesday, but a day before that (Tuesday), we had a presentation day where we had to present our storyboard to a few judges and see if they approve of it and stuffz.
It went pretty good, the presentation, I mean. J I was slightly nervous… I mean, who wouldn’t be… ><
Wednesday was crazy and fun. We had four hours to complete our animation. It seems like a lot of time, but trust me, IT AIN’T! We actually didn’t realize that for the first three hours. The last hour was when reality finally sank in… It was frantic… the pressure came on and we freaked out. I drew, outlined, colored, cut, took pictures (for the animation, not for fun… duh ^^), positioned backgrounds, people, paper bits, and etc. It was tiring.
Everything actually went relatively smoothly until…. The Last 30 Minutes… Dum dum dum ><
We realized we were running out of time and we still had tons to do… The hardest part, though, was putting in the audio. The audio recording was too long we ran into some trouble trying to cut it to the correct length. Thankfully, we managed to complete and export the animation in time. I liked it and I hope the judges do too.
We didn’t manage to do everything we wanted to but hey, we did it. We made it over 30 secs but less than a minute. We made it link to the topic of the competition (Ensuring a Connected World). We made it with some of the audio successfully in the right place. Girlz, WE MADE IT!
We were bursting with excitement on the day of the award presentation. Sad to say, we didn’t win anything. But…We went and gave our best shot! We didn’t receive a prize, or a certificate, or whatever, but we gained experience – an exposure to what stop-motion animating was like. The most important thing was that I grew so much closer to my team members. I really had a fun time with them, all the preparing and planning, the thinking and the sketching, the laughing and the shouting… We had a great time overall, didn’t we, girls?
Well, this experience happened a while back, (half a year ago, I think, I forgot) but the excitement and craziness is still in my mind.
One day, we shall work together again… How do I know? Well, cos Imma genious. (This is actually an inside joke… *wink,wink*)
Bye!
The This or That Tag
Wassup!
I've been tagged by the lovely Tane! Yay! Thanksies, Tane, you are just amazing! Please, please, please, go check out her blog. *whispers* It’s amazing...
Alright, here are the rules for this tag:
Answer the questions given to you, give the people you nominate the same questions, nominate three people and let them know they've been tagged.
Yay! So let’s begin…
Tane’s Questions:
 Hair up or down?
Um… preferably up, especially because it’s so warm here in Sinagpore… >< But I would absolutely love my hair down on a great hair day (which, sadly, is super rare).
 Dessert or fruit?
This is a really hard one… Um, what kinds of dessert are we talking about here? Cos if it’s like the Asian kind of dessert, then I’d rather have fruits. But if it’s ice-cream and cheesecakes, then YES, MY ANSWER WOULD DEFINITELY BE DESSERT.
 Dress or shirt and sweatpants?
Definitely shirt and sweatpants. Comfortable is way more important than looking pretty… Sorta… :P
 One Direction or Jonas Brothers?
Honestly, neither. Cos I dun listen to any of those bands. But, I may have accidentally heard them a couple times in a mall or something…
 Radio or iPod?
I don’t have iPod, but I would dearly love to own one.
Sleepover at your house or at a friend's house?
FRIEND’S HOUSE! <3 Cos I sleep in my own room ALL THE TIME. So, sleeping over in a different room/ friend’s house will make the experience so much cooler and funner. (Yes, I know that’s not a word…)
Cookies or apples?
Erm, cookies. Cos with braces, apples are a no-no.
(Unless they’re chopped up into really teeny, tiny, bite-sized pieces.)
Playing cards or painting?
Painting TOGETHER WITH MY FAMILY. We used to do that a lot and we had soooo muuuuch fuuun!
In a board game, would you rather be a green or a white piece?
White, not sure why tho…
People I'm tagging:
lissy
Prissy
Amy-Anne Williams
(I would LOVE to tag more peeps, but sadly, I can’t…  *cowers* Please don’t hurt me if your name isn’t on my list…)
That’s all, folks! Thanks for stopping by!
Project 16 - DIY Project #4 - Bobble Fairy Lights
Heyoo!
Sorry for not posting in such a long time…
I had to catch up with school after the mission trip. Also there exams coming up and I have to study for them… Argh, so many things to do, so little time to accomplish them… I have an announcement to make: I’ll be posting less frequently on this blog because of the upcoming exams. This applies to this month (March) and the next (April). But, I’ll still stick to the minimum of 4 posts a month. Why 4? Check this post out!
I’ve actually done a couple DIY stuffs and I managed to get another one done a few days ago. Im not sure if you would consider this DIY project, but I will, so yeah… :P
I bought some fairy lights from the Russian Market in Cambodia while I was there. I saw 'em and immediately fell in love with them. They’re so cute and colorful, I just had to get them. So I did. The bobbles were squished so that they would be easier to pack and store, but I had to un-squish them and individually attach them to the lights.
It took forever to get it done and string it up, but I finally did. I’m not exactly very good at describing it so I’ll just show you a picture… Yeah, I decided it hang them at the head of my bed. :) So when they are switched on at night, I'll feel like a... a... I dunno... It's just so nice and relaxing. I mean, imagine soft glows of various colors framing the place where you lie, warm and comfy, ready for a good night's rest... *Sighs*
Here they are!
All lit up and soooo pretty! <3
Alrighty, that's all for now! Thanks for stopping by!
